Resoring XP Boot Ability?

R

Ross M. Greenberg

I had a dual boot system: XP Pro/Vista Ultimate. Then I ran some buggy partitioning software. Fortunately I had full backups on an external USB drive. I restored the Vista partition without a problem. The data files on the XP Pro partition were restored as well. But the bootable portion of XP Pro didn't make it. When the system boots I get the choice of booting from Windows Vista (the default) or the "Earlier Version of Windows" which is not bootable.

What do I need to restore the dual-boot capabilities?

Thanks!

What's the error message you get when trying to boot into XP?
