Resolution

Anyway to install something that can produce outfile with higher resolutions
(1280x1024). I want to see my movies on my PC Monitor not on TV. TV quality
is crap compared to monitors or beamers. QuickTime allows you to run such a
movies, Why Movie Maker cannot generate them?
