audio skips

When playing my movie on Windows Movie maker, the sound is perfect. When I
burn to a DVD using Roxie and play back on a TV I get skips every few
minutes. Why?

Could be hundreds of reason why.
too high a bitrate
incompatible audio chosen
poor disc
Incompatible disc
poor burn
poor encode
dirty lens on dvd player
dirty disc
Too fast a burn speed

If you replay the disc does it always skip the audio in the same place?
Are you playing it back on a dvd player or on your pc?
Does it skip on pc and dvd player?
In exactly the same place?
What settings did you choose for the encoding and burning?
What make and type of disc did you use?

If you save the movie as a dv.avi file on your computer and play it in media
player does the audio skip?
