I am using XP 2 on a 1 yr. old Dell pc. I have the pixels set to 800x600 in
the display properties. I like the bigger letters ect. The screen on my
monitor sways back and forth continuously and it is very annoying. Can you
help with this problem.

You probably have an LCD monitor, which is designed to operate at its native
resolution (for a 15" monitor: 1,024 X 768; for a 17" monitor: 1,280 X
1,024). You may be able to use other resolutions, but you're not going to
like the results.

It should perhaps be noted that Windows enables you to pick larger fonts
on higher resolution monitors. E.g., I have an LCD monitor set to
1280x1024, and Windows offers Normal, Large, and Extra Large fonts for
this. Also, you can enlarge many system fonts using Control Panel,
Display, Appearance, Advanced. You can therefore have both high
resolution and large fonts.
