resizing pictures

when I put in the size for resizing my picture for a website ie 254w x 200h
what I enter does not stay. It changes it to 254 by 191. anything I should be
doing differently?

Sounds, no matter what software you are talking about, like a situation
where you are trying to maintain the proportions and have checked something
like "maintain aspect ratio", that is, sizing to 254x200 would stretch the
width disproportionately.

That said, you'd be far better off asking in a newsgroup that deals with the
specific imaging software you are using. When you do, give some specifics of
what functionality you are using to resize, etc.
