Resetting the unread email count on the welcome screen

A friend came over to my house, and logged onto MSN Messanger to add a contact. He also had a notification for 11 unread email messages. After she left, I noticed it displayed '11 unread email messages' on the welcome screen, and when I click on it, it shows my freind's email address. I can't read these messages because I don't know my friend's password.

Is it possible to reset this counter?

Try clicking on File and then select Switch identy then

select main idenity or manage identy

Try downloading Tweak UI from Microsoft

www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp

Expand "Logon" in the left hand pane and select "Unread Mail Count". Apply to all users. I think that should do the trick!
