reset system to configuration before last installation?

I installed something called "zipcodec" that has loaded a spyware ap that
has taken over my whole machine. I can get rid of it so how can i reset my
system to the configuration prior to the install of this ap? can anyone
help.

Do a System Restore. If you set a restore point just prior to this.......
(All Programs-Accessories-System Tools-System Restore - I think......)
 
dont know where to go to do a system restore. Is there a step sequence for
that someplace?
