To set IE as the default browser, try the following:
Load Internet Explorer
Click on "Tools", then "Internet Options".
Click on the "Programs" tab.
Depending on what you would like to do, you have the option to "Reset Web
Settings" (available by clicking the titled button).
If you would like to set Internet Explorer as the default browser, check the
box titled, "Internet Explorer should check to see whether it is the default
browser".
Click on OK to save your settings and exit Internet Options.
Close all Internet Explorer sessions.
If you have not already gotten a prompt asking whether you would like to set
Internet Explorer as the default browser, relaunch a session.
You should then get a dialog box asking whether you would like to set
Internet Explorer as the default browser.
