REQ: Video File Joiner

B

Bob Vickers

What is a good program to use to join .avi files. My conversion software
(Cucusoft) dosn't seem to work that well joining files. I would prefer a
stand alone program, But if it's part of another Freeware progie that can be
used without doing the conversion that would be ok too.

Thanks In Advance

VirtualDub works perfect for me.
Simple in use, fast and efficient tool :)

How does VirtualDub join video files?

File/ (first you may select range)
Save avi segment and then append avi segment...

I know VirtualDub program is designed for video processing,
but for simple join/split operations works well.

Does it re-encode the video, or actually "join" the parts in a lossless
manner?

Thanks KonradK, I always used VirtualDub for splitting files, not appending
them.

MikeS: Video segments can be joined losslessly in VirtualDub if you use the
Direct Stream Copy feature instead of the Full Processing Mode when
rendering files.
