Looking for a video joiner

Looking to join some fairly small mpg's into one file.

I have VirtualDub, but am having problems with it. I have reinstalled it to
no avail.

Used Video Merge, and it is not reliable. It joins sometimes but most of
the times it doesn't.

I have downloaded Video Joiner, but it is not freeware.

There's also TMPGEnc [freeware/shareware]. Turns to freeware after the
trial period, 30 days? BUT then it can only work on MPEG-1 not MPEG-2
as far as I know.
