I just installed FP 2003 from my Action Pack, and I can't use it. When I
start it, it pops up a msg box saying that it can't be used on terminal
server. When I click OK, the app disappears.

The thing is, I am not using Terminal Server. I do have TS installed when I
installed the OS. But I have never used it on this machine, nor on any
machine to connect to this one.

There is no error number, just the message.

Anyone know what to do about this?
For the record, it's FP 2003, and I installed it on W2003 Server Standard.
It's a new machine, so pretty clean. Only has Office and a couple of other
apps.

You will have to uninstall Terminal Server.
Control -Panel >> Add or Remove Programs >> Windows Components

So I can't use TS and FP ont he same machine? If that's the case, then the
MS people need to fix this.

I think I'll just do without FP, then.

You did say that you didn't intentionally install it, and that you have no
use for it. Why not uninstall it?

Because I might want to use it later. Why should two Microsoft products
compete with each other like this?

Is this version of FP a trial version or full version?

If it is a trial version see the following KB (which indicated this issue
with Office XP trial versions):

Is there a problem with FP2003 on a TermServer 2003? I also have the error
when launching FP that this version will not run on a terminal server. I
cannot find much (or am looking in the wrong areas) on how to install on a
TS. Do I need sharepoint first?

I think I figured this out - awhile back, MAction Pak sent an email saying
the code on the back of the CD was a trial, whilst the codes on the stickers
were legit. I reinstalled then did not get the error.
