Reply switch from HTML to Plain Text

I can't figure out why when I click reply the email switched from HTML
format to Plain text. I can switch it back to HTML but the formatting has
been lost. I've check the setting Tools > Options then the Mail Format Tab

Compose in this message format: HTML
Checked: Use Microsoft Office Word 2003 to edit e-mail messages
Checked: Use Microsoft Ofiice Word 2003 to read Rich Text e-mail messages

Where else would I look??

Missed that options... It was not checked. I did turn it on and off a few
times to see if it made a difference... it didn't. I did find it stops
happen when I tell it not to use Word as the editor. Some setting in Word??

Sorry, can't help you here. I have stopped using Word as email editor a
very long time ago. It is too cumbersome, and there are many things you
can't control, such as the message encoding.

Hopefully someone else has some ideas...

Actually, in Outlook 2003, Word 2003 makes a great editor. They made great
strides since Outlook 97.... and Word was very usable in Outlook 2002.
