I have 2 Accounts set up that work with the message rules. My problem is that
if you create new mail or reply to mail. the From line does not default to
the account you are sending from.so if i do not catch it ,i end up sending
mail from my wifes account.
Is there a way to fix this?

(a) Just click on the "From:" in the mail's header and select the proper
account.

(b) Under "Tools | Accounts" assign the wanted account as "Standard".

WinMail always replies using the account that downloaded the message. If
your 'accounts' are aliases for the same mailbox on the server this may not
be the 'account' it is addressed to.

Windows Mail uses the following logic:
A reply uses the same account that downloaded the original message.
A new email always uses the default mail account.
Either default can be overridden by selecting from the 'From' drop-down
selector in the compose screen.

You can upgrade to Windows Live Mail which uses a different scheme
for new emails. Since Windows Live Mail has separate folders for each
account, it uses the account associated with the currently selected folder.
