Reply HTML messages to plain text by default

I would like to reply to HTML messages to plain text. Whenever, I try to
reply to them, I see blue characters and my format preference is ignored.

Is there any way to overcome this?
 
Change the message format manually. You'll always reply in the same message
format. Usually it's not considered nice to change the message format when
replying unless there are technical limitations.
