Replacing WXP

Leon

I recently purchased a used computer from an individual
and later found that the WXP on it is a "bootlegged" copy.
I want to purchase the program and lay it over the
existing bootlegged copy because it is not possible to
uninstall or delet the bad copy. Is this possible? Can I
simply install the good copy and assume it will replace
the bad with no side effects, like slowing the computer
down.

Thank you.

Greetings --

You'll need to purchase and use a _legitimate_ full retail copy of
WinXP Pro to perform a repair (a.k.a. in-place upgrade) installation,
using the new CD and Product Key.

you should use ripprep on the windows xp CD,
look in the deploy.cab file, then after you get the
new XP cd, use the new CD key when the PC reboots .
