In Excel 2003 I have a series of cells formated as text that cintain numbers
sting 42xxxxxx and wished to replace them with 042xxxxxx. When I try to use
the replace function in Excel and say replace 42 with 042 and set the format
to Text both for the find and replace, it will find the 42 but will not
replace it with 042. Also if a cell already contains 042, when it replaces
that, it removes the leading zero.
If the cells are formated as text why won't it change them?
