I have a very long text in a cell, and the Find/Replace just wouldn't replace
any minor text within the text. It displays the message "formula too long"
whereas i have not used any formula except the Edit-> Replace function.

Hi Associate,
I have a very long text in a cell, and the Find/Replace just wouldn't replace

whereas i have not used any formula except the Edit-> Replace
function.

Download my Flexfind addin from:

http://www.jkp-ads.com/officemarketplaceff-en.asp

After installing, press control+shift+h to start the replace option
(control-shift-f starts the find option, and you can switch using the
button to
the immediate left of the close button).

Make sure you set it to look in Values, NOT formulas.

Hi Jan,

Would this work if there were file paths in the formulas?

I've got a spreadsheet with hundreds of calculated cells that look at a
different spreadsheet for their data. When these files were moved over to me,
the filepaths in the cell formulas got very long, so now I can't edit them as
"Formula is too long".

Is there any other way I can change these formulas? I'm grateful for any
help as there are far too many to change individually and I'm out of ideas!

Many thanks,

AB3
