Hi!
I have just finished building a new PC (A8N-Premium MOBO, 4400 X2 Processor,
XP Pro)
When I ordered my components I ordered a PATA hard drive by mistake (thanks
to hitachi who have the same model numbers for both SATA II and PATA drives!)
Being impatient, I used the PATA drive instead of returning it. The system
has been up and running for a few weeks now and I'm really happy with it.
However, I have now ordered 2 SATA II drives which I plan to use in RAID 0
config as my main system drive, I will use the old PATA drive for manual
backups.
My question is this - I plan to install and configure the two new drives as
RAID 0 and then transfer an image of my PATA drive to the new RAID drive. If
I do tis will I have a problem in persuading windows that the RAID array is
now my system drive?
I will use norton ghost to move the image of my C: drive to the new RAID
drive and then try to boot up the system with the old PATA disconnected.
Can anybody forsee any problems in doing this?
Thanks,
Rhys
