I purchased a digital lansing 56x cd- rom to replace my current cd rom drive. All the connections are made but windows still thinks the old drive is active. How do I tell window xp that there is a new device on board?

Any knowledge would be helpful
Thanks, Mike

CD Rom may take over the old CD Rom setting.

In order to update the CD Rom setting, delete the CD Rom settings in Device
Manager and then reboot. XP should re-detect the CD drive and re-install it
correctly.
