Replacing an old site

I have Frontpage 2003 and our company web site is stored on a local server. I publish changes through Frontpage to the site hosted externally by an ISP running the server extensions.

I had a consultant design a new site compatible with Frontpage. I'm to the stage where I need to get the new site files from the design firm, publish them locally to my internal server and replace the old web site at the ISP with the new.

Does anyone have a best practice to recommend? The design company could ftp the files to the ISP and I could publish them from the ISP to my local server but I don't want to get old files mixed up with new files.

Should I use a sub web? Any guidance is greatly appreciated. I want to make this transition as smooth as possible.

You can use the process in

(if you use a CD, copy the web to your hard disc from the CD and remove all read only attributes)

Best way is to open your current online web (ISP) in FP and, if your host supports subwebs, create a subweb w/ unique permissions
(see below), then have your design firm publish to the subweb (from there you can publish back to your PC)

Correct
If you can't have unique permissions
- grant them access and then change your password when they are done

| I guess the issue would be that with the unique permissions they would only be able to publish to the subweb and wouldn't be able
to affect anything currently under the root web.
