Replaceing buttons

I have made and saved some buttons at Free Button maker. Now I want to replace the buttons in my link bar that was generated by FP. How do I do that

You have to modify a theme and replaced the image buttons with your own.

You have to remove the current theme, and then apply your new modified theme.

OK, I did the customize of the theme. I went to graphics, used browse to find the new button and

inserted it. It showed, but appeared to be on top of the old button. I saved it as a "copy of." I
then clicked on the icon for that theme but it did not change on my site. At one point the names on
the old buttons went away (scary) but now it is back as normal. What did I miss?
