Replaced Word "Normal.dot" - now Outlook isn't the same

I had to recreate my Normal.dot yesterday. I can't find the settings for
Outlook!

I've been through all my Outlook Options, and as soon as I check "use
Word", everything I set is gone! So now I'm wondering if I'm ignorant
of a certain template or other "interaction" between Outlook and Word
that was trashed when Word built me a new Normal. I can't get my fonts
to set, and I can't get my signature the way it was.

I would appreciate any assistance with either Outlook or Word.

What version of Office are you using? To the best of my knowledge, Office
XP and 2003 use Normal.dot as the WordMail template, while earlier versions
used a separate template called Email.dot.
