After replacing Normal, Outlook is different. What do I fix?

I had to recreate my Normal.dot yesterday. I'm struggling through all the
"can't find my macros" stuff okay. But I can't find the settings for
Outlook! Macros I deal with regularly; Outlook was set lo-o-ong time ago,
and I haven't messed with it.

I know this is a *Word* NG and not Outlook - I'm here because I've been
through all my Outlook Options, and as soon as I check "use Word",
everything I set is gone! So now I'm wondering if I'm ignorant of a certain
template or other "interaction" between Outlook and Word that was trashed
when Word built me a new Normal. I can't get my fonts to set, and I can't
get my signature the way it was.

If there is anything I can or need to do in Word, I would appreciate the
assistance. Otherwise, I'll go beat on Outlook!

G'Day again Ed!

I am a tad confused.

If you want to use Word as the Editor for Outlook,
this is set in Outlook:
Tools>Options>Mail Format (tab),
as I think you already know.

Setting this should have no impact on either
Program, other than restricting Word to
within the Outlook Edit Window. To the
best of my knowledge Word opens the
Normal Template, and all the Global templates
it usually opens.

Bearing in mind your earlier problem with
Normal.dot, I would say that something is
right royally screwed up!

When you say:
<snip>
and as soon as I check "use Word",
everything I set is gone
<snip>
what was "set", and how is it "gone"?

Now it might be time to 'fess up and
give us the complete picture.

Hi,

I also don't know exactly what you mean?

If you mean you're custom toolbars are gone or other shifts in buttons
then I would understand.

Word totaly sets up a new Normal.dot for you. (Complete with th
default toolbars)

If I'm totaly off please say!

Good luck
