Replaced video card--games way too fast

Hi all,

Well, this is a somewhat unusual problem...

I've replaced my Nvidia 6600GT video card with an 8800GTS 320. Since doing
that, a couple of the games I play--not all--are *way* too fast...and I
don't mean the framerate is way faster than what I'm used to (I've done
video card upgrades before, so I know what to expect), but I mean the timing
is now way off...for example, if there's a clock in the game, it'll run many
times faster than the normal rate...a bit like a VCR stuck on fast-forward.
Strangely enough, not all games exhibit that problem. It's almost like the
game isn't reading the CPU/GPU speed properly, thinks it's slower than it
actually is, and tries to over-compensate. I'm not sure if there's
something I can run to get the whole system to somehow recalibrate itself.

Hopefully my explanation makes sense...

Thoughts?

See if any of the links here help
too fast

You may want to post in the nVidia forums for more responses.

Well, it sent me in the right direction...I (re)installed AMD's CPU driver,
and now every game that misbehaved works fine...

Go figure...I remember installing that driver before...no clue why changing
the video card would force me to reinstall it. Oh well, it works
now...lesson learned...
