Around January 10, my computer began running very slugglishly, and I
restarted my computer. When I signed into my user account (the only one on
my computer), all of my settings were gone--visual/program/start
menu--everything. I expected all of my files to be gone as well, but they
were still there. But, now, instead of "daniel" as my user account, there is
a "daniel.DANIEL", and it has its own "My Documents", etc. But- There are
not multiple names available on the sign-in/welcome screen, nor on the
"Change/Modify User Accounts" screens in the Control Panel. The
"daniel.DANIEL" is now the "default" for saving things, so I've continued to
save files in my "old" one.
Does anyone know what cause this, what it is, and/or how to correct the
problem?
Thank you for your help.
