Outlook has received almost every email that has been sent to me since
April three times over in the last few hours. I have a POP3 account
(nothing else going to Outlook) which is also copied to a Gmail
account.
This evening, I returned home, awoke my hibernating laptop and found
that certain settings (wallpaper, screensaver) had reverted to
defaults. Also, Outlook has lost its Norton toolbar. I ran a virus
sweep - found nothing. However, since then, I have received almost
every email sent to my POP3 account since April. I have deleted the
messages in the web client.
Curiously, my Google News gadget is also flashing up the messages, but
they are not being re-delivered to that account.
Everytime I finish deleting the messages in Outlook and restart the
program or my laptop, the messages start up again from April.
Please help me - this is driving me crazy. Forgive my confused account
of the problem. I am tired and confused, and not terribly
technically-minded. Any advice would be gratefully received.
Thank you.
