Hello, I am trying to repair windows and I must have (i don't remember) set
up a password when I install windows and the repair, I presume is not
working because I have an invalid password. I am the administrator and I
also have a user (which is me) with a password but that password is not
valid.
Any suggestion?

Also, I am trying to install from ASUS cd the atapi8211 and it is failing,
so now, I have no ide no usb and I need to reinstall but I can't. Any
suggestion?

Thanking you in advance
Daniel

If you are booting from a valid win cd it doesnt require any password to
repair.

Using the command consol requires the admin password

What exactly is happening? Pleas give us a better account of your problem as
it is difficult to determine when and where you are running into the
password issue.

Have you tried leaving the password blank?

I also applied the

After the empty password I got a c:\windows. According to the above link,
my system would have come back to sp1. However when I look at the System
properties it does indicate service pack 2. I don't have the impression it
did anything is there a way for me to know what was changed?

How do I set up administrative password? I don't like the way it is set up,
my user account is showing me and an empty guess and there is nothing for an
administrator. When I run the repair, it does not accept my password. So
that means that my system is accessible, I presume.

Thank you for your light

The info at the site is likely old and still refers to SP1. However if your
version of XP includes SP2 then the repair will show as you see it. If you
have XP Home Version you won't see a separate account called Administrator
in the User Accounts Control Panel. By default the Administrator Account ins
hidden in XP Home version and can only be accessed through Safe Mode.
