Repair Results in Drive Letter Changes

Terry Smythe

Suffered a major system failure, RestorDuring would not work, so needed to
do a "Repair". During this process, some 50+ files refused to copy across,
and my drive letters of my main 4-partition drive emerged as S, T, U, V.
Computer Management refuses to let me change S to C, as it sees S as my boot
drive. How could this happen?

A Google search indicates that many people are experiencing copy failures on
Repair, along with very long periods (~20-30 minutes) of absolutely no
activity, suddenly coming back to life and continuing with the process.

This Repair process is driving me nuts.......

Thoughts of others?

You might try disconnecting all the other drives before running the Repair.
They can be put in after the successful rebuild.
