How the heck do i perform a repair install for xp home

I've done this with xp pro, and it works great, doesn't
mess with profiles or anything, everything is still
there, except it replaces the corrupt or missing os files

xp home, this option doesn't show during the re-install
screens. is this even possible with home?????

Robb;
Exactly the same for Home as Pro.
Is the Home CD you are using OEM?

Repair Installation:

Windows Updates will need to be reinstalled.
Data should be safe, back-up important data just in case.
Install Service Pack first and by itself.
Then install ALL Critical Updates no more than 4 at a time,

Disconnect the network/modem cable before starting repair and do NOT
reconnect the cable until repair is completed and firewall is
installed/enabled.
