This is a problem I've had from day one with Vista. When I choose the
"repair my Computer" option after pressing F8, i am faced with a login
screen, which after I enter EVERY account on the computer, returns the
error, "The specified domain either does not exist t or could not be
contacted." Reseting all my passwords does not help. I can not find
any reference to this type of problem after googling it. Booting under
a linux password rreset cd does not help. I am at a loss. A fresh re-
install from factory recovery disk has the same problem. Any ideas?

The password being requested is that of the built-in
_Administrator_ account, not the password for any other administrative
user accounts that the computer's owner may have created. Unless the
owner deliberately set the Administrator's password via the Management
Console (_not_ the Control Panel), it's probably still blank.

Thanks Bruce for your reply. I tried logging in via "Administrator"
and "_Administrator_" but both failed. Am I doing something wrong?

I guess there is no answer for this, just another vista bug, or maybe
an OEM mistake.
