Repair Mode not working

I want to do a repair reinstall of Windows XP. My computer will boot up to
the boot options menu, and restart the computer. I boot up with my CD and my
floppy disk Hard Drive driver, and choose the repair option of a previous
installed version. It will go through the first DOS screens, then it states
that Windows has done maintenance on the hard drive, and will boot up with
the boot options menu again, and restart the computer. Any way to get the
"Windows Part" of the installation to run?

sounds odd that

the only thing that comes to mind
is that you setup cd is a "win xp" or "win xp sp1"
but your pc is upgraded to "win xp sp2"
via the microsoft update site.

but you might try a couple of things
anyway.

most people don't know that you
can run the windows xp setup cd
from the desktop like any cd that
has programs on it.

so you can try to launch the
setup or the install file from the cd via the
windows explorer.

also you might try the method in the link
below and click on start > run > sfc /scannow
