I have a computer that someone decided to do a repair and it got part way
through now it gets to a point then reboots. I have been tryingto read the
message but it reboots too quickly. I think it may have said "Insufficient
Resources..." but I'm not sure.

I have run a memory testor to make sure that the memory is okay and it is. I
have also done a CHKDSK and the disk checks out okay.

I do get screen that says "Setup is being restarted...." then shortly
thereafer it fails.

Thanks

If a "repair" was 1/2 way done to xps OS,then xp is probably corrupt at this
point.Simply boot to xp cd,select install xp,delete the partition
(xp),create one,
then let xp format and install auto.

it's highly likely that the repair was initiated due to an existing problem.
And quite possibly the problem is still effectively causing windows some
serious issues. Before you begin to wipe away the problems with a format,
can you provide some feedback as to what was trying to be resolved with a
repair?

Off hand, it seems that insufficient resources may be due to no disk space.
Is there an interest in downloading music files by you and or yours...?

Thank you Andrew but unfortunatly that is not an option at this point. But
here is some more information.

Although the setup is with the original OEM CD it has decided to call itself
an UpGrade. Ever heard of that?

My client tells me that when they went to do some work on some pictures they
were told that there were files missing and asked to insert the Windows CD.
They did so and were asked to do so again when they went to check thier email
(Outlook Express).

At this point hey decided to do a repair and all hell broke loose.
