can i use an oem version of xp pro to legitamize the version of xp that i'm using (invalid key-can't get SP1). i found oem for a lot less than the full retail (around $150). i've already been ripped off for the xp upgrade and don't want to spend up to three hundred for the retail xp if i don't have to.

You need the retail full version if you want to keep the existing
installation. You can backup the important data and use the OEM version for
a clean install.
