It's a long, and drawn-out procedure to follow, mostly because of all

I don't know that site, but the one I always recommend is "How to Perform a
Windows XP Repair Install" at
http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.htm



Be aware however, that a repair installation is not the solution to all
problems. You don't say what your problem is, and it may or may not help in
your case.

I beleive that I deleted a file, don't know which one.

I beleive that I deleted a file, don't know which one.

In that case, the System File Checker should be able to replace the
file, though, if it truly is missing:

Start > Run > "SFC /Scannow"

Thanks, tried SFC, nothing turned up. Must be something else going on.

I have completed the Repair Install program and nothing turned up, however
when I went into Control Panel under Classic View, I notice that there is a
space between "BDE Administrator" and "Date & Time" and also between "
Security Center" and "Sounds and Audio Devices". Is there something missing
here?
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Ken,

I'm in the middle of a similar problem, I installed XP on a seperate disc to
access data, when I try to do a repair install the corrupt installation is
not detected by setup.

It shows up in the select os menu, it is detected byy bootcfg in the
recovery console but not by setup.

Is there a way to force this installation to be detected?
