Repair Install gives BSOD; next step?

Well, it wasn't a bad suggestion. I found a clear CMOS jumper in the manual,
so I may try that. But I'm not completely sure that's what caused the
problem. Yes, it happened immediately after, which is suspicious. But...

1. when I power on (trying to complete repair install) I can see the Windows
logo followed by the BSOD.

2. when I start up from the Windows disk I can see the screen.

3. when I power on and hit F2 to go into BIOS setup I see a blank screen.

That doesn't make sense to me.
