Renaming Photos

I am using Windows XP Home. When I right click on the
picture to re-name pictures downloaded from a digital
camera, I get a "Explorer has to close" error. Can
anyone tell me how to fix this. The problem did not
always exist, but started recently.
 
I had a similar problem with Windows explorer closing when right clicking
files when I had McAfee Virus Scan installed and the problem was resolved
after uninstalling Virus Scan.
 
Paul, when did you have this problem? Recently?
I don't use McAfee, I use Norton, but a friend has McAfee with no such
problem when I was on his computer renaming files. Just curious, because
renaming files is such a common practice.
