renaming catroot2

The may be the incorrect forum for this question.

But more than one article has suggested:

ren %systemroot%\system32\catroot2 oldcatroot2

When I try this I get message that ren cannot be found (or
words to that affect).

What does this mean?

From the "cmd" prompt, try:
move %systemroot%\system32\catroot2 oldcatroot2
