Rename Harf Drive

I am logged in as admin - the issue has something to do
with the way XP views external - that is to say USB -
drives - I can rename all the internal drives, but not
the external ones. please advise.
 
Try renaming from command prompt (Start > Run (cmd) )

Go to drive and type: label
Hope it will work.
