removing USB keyboard on notebook

I can't remove the USB keyboard from notebook and get the notebook's keyboard
to function properly. When I hit keys on the notebook keyboard after
shutting down and removing the external USB keyboard, it does not display
them correctly. So what do I need to do to be able to use the notebook
keyboard?

In win98 one could in "system-settings" change the keyboard IIRC.
Don't know if something similar exists in XP as I don't use it.
Does the external keyboard have more "function-keys" then the
internal one? Then most likely you will have to select the proper
keyboard each time you use the internal one.
Other then that I could list a few "guesses" bat they wont to be
helping you...

Define "does not display them correctly"
Make sure when your using the laptop keyboard that you don't have Numlock
turned on.

After I remove the USB keyboard and use the one on the notebook and hit a key
such as "p" it shows as something other than the key in entered, so I can't
even log on.

Getting info out of you is akin to getting water from a rock.
"and hit a key such as "p" it shows as something other than the key in
entered"

What EXACTLY does it produce? Did you make sure Numlock was turned off as I
suggested?

Hey stone head, what difference does it make what it produces? It won't show
the correct key!
Yes the numlock is not the problem.

Hopefully others will overlook your poor attitude and feel sorry for you and
provide assistance, I have better things to do with my time.

Have you tried contacting the manufacturer's tech support yet? If not,
you may get a solution more quickly than here.

Turn off NumLock, maybe?

tut tut lets not get heated. Have you tried pressing the Fn key as well as
Num Lock together, just once will do then try typing. If that doesnt work
then try the Regional and language options in the Control Panel and check the
input language for your keyboard on the languages tab. Hope this works.

Thanks, that seemed to do the trick!
