I'm running a wired home network. PC's come and go and names change. When
viewing workgroup computers, these old PC's/names are still showing and
obviously when tryinh to access and error occurs. How do you remove items
that are no longer avialable on the network ???

Browsing is not, and is not intended to be, a perfect representation of
current network resources. There are built-in latencies, and these are
aggravated by network traffic, frequent shutdowns, adding/removing machines,
etc. Your stale entries will eventually disappear. See:

Doug,

Thnaks for reply and link. How long does it take for entries to dissappear
?? Some of the invalid entries (appear to) have been around for months
