Don't know if this proper newsgroup, but here goes...

I previously had cable internet using VIA compatible Fast Ethernet Adapter.

Now on DSL, using Realtek PCI Fast Ethernet NIC.

I want to remove the VIA compatible Fast Ethernet Adapter from “Control
Panel/Network Connections”.

When I click on PROPERTIES, "VIA compatible Fast Ethernet Adapter", I
get options to UNINSTALL...
FILE & PRINTER SHARING FOR Ms NETWORKS,
QOS PACKET SCHEDULER
INTERNET PROTOCOL (TCP/IP)

However UNINSTALL for REALTEK has same install options.

How can I install the, "LAN for VIA compatible Fast Ethernet Adapter",
and not harm REALTEK? Is it safe to uninstall
FILE & PRINTER SHARING FOR Ms NETWORKS,
QOS PACKET SCHEDULER
INTERNET PROTOCOL (TCP/IP)
on VIA compatible Fast Ethernet Adapter, without harming REALTEC DSL
connections?

Thanks

Ben

If yr old lan is mb based, uninstall want help as it will be found at next
reboot. Disable it in the bios
Or in network connections rt click and disable it.

Thanks David,

I didn't think about that, it is on the MB, will disable it in bios.
