2 dual monitor icons in taskbar, want to remove one

Using win XP home, sp2 , SBC /YAHOO DSL SPEEDSTREAM 5100 modem
furnished by SBC.

In the taskbar at bottom right of screen, there are 2"dual monitor" icons.

Place arrow pointer on one icon, shows... DSL. speed 100 Mbps, which
I know is not actural speed.

Place arrow pointer on 2nd icon ( which has yellow trianagle with " ! "
in it and it shows... "Local Area Connection 2, speed 100 Mbps, STATUS
limited or NO connectivity.

In the NETWORK CONNECTIONS folder, it shows...

***BROADBAND***
DSL Broadband Connected, firewalled WAN Miniport (PPPOE)

***LAN or HIGH-SPEED INTERNET***
LOCAL AREA CONNECTION LAN or High-Speed internet Network cable
unpugged, Firewalled VIA Compatable Fast Ethernet Adapter
LOCAL AREA CONNECTION 2 LAN or High-Speed internet Limited or no
connectivity, Firewalled Realtek RTL8139 Family PCI Fast Ethernet NIC

The first Local Area Connection is not in use.

WHAT I need to know is why there is a 2nd icon ( which has yellow
trianagle with " ! " in it)?
If possible I would like to get rid of it. Any suggestions?

If I delete it, can not get online. At this point, need both icons to
be there, to get online.

Thanks a lot.

Hi Bently

Try this, Start > Connect to > show all connections, right click on the
connection with the exclamation mark and select properties, untick Notify me
when this connection has limited or no connectivity.

Hope that helps,
Martin
