removing icons from Notifications area

How do i remove Icons from (past programs) from the notification area
of the startup, in the Taskbat near the clock

Delete the IconStreams and PastIconsStream values from the following
registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\
TrayNotify
