Remove unused icons from customise notifications dialog box

i have uninstalled few programs. but even after removal, their icons still
appear in the "taskbar properties">"taskbar tab">"Hide inactive icons
-customise button">"customise notifications">"past items column". So, how to
remove those junks from the "past items" section?????????????

It's all or nothing. You can't remove selected entries from the
Past Items list.

If you want to wipe the slate clean, do the following:
Go to Start -> Run and enter regedit.exe in the Open box.
In the Registry editor, navigate to this registry key,

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\TrayNotify

In the right hand pane, right click on "IconStreams" and select
Delete from the menu. Do the same for "PastIconsStream"

Log off from your account and log back on. Check "Customize
Notifications". The only entries should be the current items
displayed in the Notification area.

If you'd rather not mess around with the registry, here's an

this post, i made a search in google & got the same fix from
