Removing Custom Formatting

When using a slide template in version 2003, I will occasionally
customize part of the text, e.g., make a word bold or change its
color. As you may know, if I ever change to a different template, the
changes I made to the text will typically remain.

(Example: I create a presentation using the Angles template and change
the font for the title in Slide 2 to a dark red color, one that is not
is the color scheme. I then apply the Arrows template, because I think
it looks better. When I do this, the dark red title for Slide 2
doesn't change to the yellow color that is defined in the template.)

Is there a command or a trick to remove this custom formatting and
revert back to the formatting defined in a template? I know I can do
this manually by cutting the text, deleting the text box, restoring
the textbox (by re-applying the slide layout), and then pasting the
text as "text only." But whew! That's a lot of steps, especially if I
have to make these sorts of changes to a bunch of slides in a
presentation.

Is there an easier way?

Thanks,
EM
