Removing Bad Files: Error 0x80501001 and Error 0x8058026

Using Window Defender [latest updates], Win XP SP2 Home

When I told WD to "Remove" the 5 identified "bad" software, I first got
a message box stating the WD could not do all requested actions with an
Error: 0x80501001. When I checked each action, I saw that each had an
error 0x8058026, but I was unable to see the entire text due to a lack
of space / word wrap on the display.

NOTE: I noticed that all 3 un"removed" items were in System Restore
files. {Perhaps the coders forgot to address items found in Restore
files and how to "Remove" them.}

Q1. Was WD designed to handle removals from System Restore files?

Q2. Why did I get these two error messages?

Q3. How can I see the full message for error 0x8058026?

Q4. Why could I not copy the error messages using CTRL-C?

Q5. How can I copy the error messages?

UPDATE

In the Announcements newsgroup, I found a similar question and a
responses. I learned that Microsoft acknowledges that WD can not delete
a file within an archive. I also learned that you can turn off
searching within archives by going to Tools | General Settings, Then
scrolling down to "Scan inside Archives" and uncheck the box.

In the same message string Microsoft admitted that the messages were
unclear and will be revised.

Q4 and Q5 were not addressed in the other message set.

Please go to accessories, system tools, disk cleanup.

Let it sit until you see two tabs on the windows--go to the second tab, more
???, and check the box to remove all but the most recent System Restore
restore point.

And hit apply. Unless it is the most recent restore point that has the bad
file in it, this should take care of it. The only risk from such file is if
a restore point is used to restore the machine--otherwise, they are just
stored, and eventually disappear.
