Removing a Task from Scheduler

Zach

I would like to Create a Task in Computer Management ==> Task Scheduler,
which will run for a yet to be determined no. of days. At the appropriate
time, I would like to remove the task from the scheduler. I don't see an
option for this.... how do I remove the task ? Not just terminate its
execution.....thx

Hi Zach,

Make sure the "selected item" section is expanded at lower right. Once you
have a folder open and select a task within it, the option to delete it
should appear in that area.

Rick, got it but here is the next problem. I scheduled a task as a test (to
display a msg. on the desktop) and IT WORKED. Now I want to make changes to
it, delete it, whatever. How do I know in what folder is it in for this or
other tasks ? I checked all the folders in the Task Schedule Library and
it's not in any of them.
Thanks again.

Not there....even if it were, the only option/button in the list of tasks
window is "End Task", which I assume will terminate the task and future
scheduled times. But how would you delete it ? But this is the 2nd
challenge...the first is to be able to see it as running. Pls let me know if
you have any other ideas.....thx

I found it ! It was not in the running tasks list because my test task was
scheduled but not running. I could not find it in the Task Scheduler Library
because I was looking in each folder in the Library but I had never
selected/clicked on the Library itself. Finally, I was also able to find
information in the Help & Support on this issue (had tried previously with
out success), which took me to the Microsoft Technet and it's all there.

Thank you again !
