Removing a dual boot setup

Is it possible to remove a dual boot (win98/win2000)
setup without reformatting the drive? They have been
installed on the same partition and the individual wants
to go back to just windows 98.

You will need a Win98 Startup Disk. Boot from it, and issue the command
"SYS C:", and your NT bootloader will be replaced by Win98. Now you can
remove the files "boot.ini", "ntdetect.com", "ntldr", "pagefile.sys" and
"bootsect.dos" on your boot disk, and your WINNT folder.

This is not a clean uninstall, there is no method for this, since you
installed both Win2000 and Win98 on the same partition. The Program Files
folder, for instance, will still have Win2000 files. Perhaps, reinstalling
Win98 over itself might help, but the only supported method is to delete
the partition, create a new one, and then install Win98 clean.

Best regards

Bjorn
