Remove unwanted update from list.

There is a DirectX critical update listed for my W2K Pro
machine and I tried to install it, but it failed. The
fail reason was becuase the version of DirectX on the
machine is not the same version as needed for the
update. I want this update to go away from my critical
update list, how can I accomplish this? I am not
interested in updating the version of DirectX so that it
matches the critical update unless I have to. Thanks in
advance!

Then you might want to run dxdiag.exe to check your DirectX installation for
problems
