Remove SCU entries

Is there a way to remove unnecessary startup items from the startup tab of
the System Configuration Utility of Win XP Home? Some are not removed when
an application is uninstalled.

Creating a manual restore point is advised as your going to edit the
registry.

Navigate to this key:

hkey_local_machine\software\microsoft\shared tools\msconfig\startupfolder

and

hkey_local_machine\software\microsoft\shared tools\msconfig\startupreg

Expand the key to see its sub folders, and then delete the ones you don't
need. (you can export them before delete to be safe if you want).
